Hotel Champlain: ballroom seating and wedding rooms
Town BurlingtonType Inns & resorts
Hotel Champlain’s 5,400-square-foot ballroom holds 350 seated or 600 standing. Its wedding FAQ requires in-house catering and a contracted minimum of ten rooms per night for a discounted wedding block. The hotel has 258 rooms and suites in total; that inventory is separate from availability in a wedding block.

A 400-person party is not a 400-seat ballroom dinner
The hypothetical group fits the standing figure but exceeds the seated maximum by 50. A ten-room block over two nights represents 20 room nights, not 20 individual guests. The hotel also states that it does not provide an airport shuttle, so airport transfers require a separate arrangement.

Hotel Champlain's weddings page describes a recently renovated hotel between Lake Champlain and downtown Burlington with a 5,400-square-foot ballroom that can host up to 600 guests standing or 350 seated. The 350-seat and 600-standing figures describe different uses of that ballroom. Choose the dinner arrangement before setting a large invitation list.
Hotel Champlain: the setting, and what couples plan around
The standing and seated numbers are very different. Ask which layout the quoted price assumes, and whether the ceremony and reception share the ballroom or need a flip.
Hotel Champlain's weddings page adds two facts that decide the lodging plan. It has 258 rooms and suites, many with views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks, and to get a discounted room rate for wedding guests there is a minimum of 10 rooms per night contracted. It also describes flexible spaces from ballroom galas to starlit terrace affairs, with views of the lake, sky and mountains.
A 10-room minimum per night is a commitment to a block. Know your likely room count before you sign, and ask what happens to unsold rooms in the block. A 258-room hotel offers lodging in the same building as the reception.

Assign bedrooms by household before committing to the block
Ten rooms reserved on each of three nights produce thirty room nights. That calculation says nothing about how many people share each room or whether a household stays all three nights. List each intended household, arrival date and departure date before accepting a contracted block. Ask how the agreement treats rooms that are not picked up and which deadline applies to releasing them.
For dinner, the ballroom's 350 seated places remain a different planning figure from its 600-person standing event. A hypothetical 320-person dinner leaves thirty below the stated seated maximum, while reserving ten rooms per night does not promise beds for all 320 guests. Discuss the actual layout, accessible seating, meal service and bedroom allocation separately with the hotel. Arrange airport transportation directly because the hotel’s FAQ says it does not provide that shuttle.
