Venue type

Vermont inn and resort wedding venues

Compare Vermont inn and resort wedding packages using the dinner room, bedroom allocation and supplier permissions. Hotel Champlain seats 350 in its ballroom and lists a ten-room-per-night minimum for a discounted block. Grafton’s full-property package starts with 100 guests and offers up to 47 room reservations paid by guests.

An included coordinator still needs a task list

Essex’s published Event Manager duties include venue logistics and specified on-site attendance; outside catering is prohibited but outside dessert has an exception and fee. A hypothetical 30-room, two-night block is 60 room nights, not 60 individual guests. Check household allocation and cancellation terms separately from the meal guarantee.

What to ask any inn and resort venue in Vermont

These are the requirements that come with the building instead of with the business, so they apply even where the venue's own website is silent. Ask before you visit. Then ask again in writing.

Is outside catering permitted at all?

At most Vermont resorts it is not. This is the rule that most often ends a venue conversation, so ask it first.

What is the room-block commitment?

Ask how many rooms you are contractually responsible for and what happens to unsold rooms. This is frequently a larger number than the site fee.

Is there another wedding on the property that day?

A resort with several function spaces may run two. That is not automatically a problem, but you should know.

What does the coordinator coordinate?

A venue coordinator runs the venue's obligations. A wedding planner runs yours. Properties differ on where that line sits, and the difference is a real cost.

Historic & estate
Museums, historic houses and preserved estates. The setting is unmatched and the rules that protect the building, collections and grounds.
