Middlebury Inn: connected wedding-room capacities
Town MiddleburyType Inns & resorts
Middlebury Inn gives different figures for its wedding arrangements: up to 110 in the Founder’s Room description, an 80-person connected-room reception, or 100 when the connector is used. The Founder’s Room, Stewart Library and Willard Room need to be named in the proposal rather than treated as one interchangeable capacity.

A 105-person reception exposes the layout difference
The hypothetical list is five above the connected arrangement’s 100-person figure despite being below 110. Confirm the specific dinner plan before reserving. The courtyard is an outdoor ceremony-and-reception option; a wet-weather move requires an available room at that hour, not simply another room somewhere in the inn.

The Middlebury Inn's wedding page offers elopements, micro weddings, traditional ceremonies and themed events, plus rehearsal dinners and a morning-after brunch. It describes a historic high-ceilinged room with crown molding, a working marble fireplace and a bay window overlooking the town as ideal for weddings of up to 110 guests.
The Middlebury Inn: the setting, and what couples plan around
On rooms, the inn's rooms page counts 71 guest rooms styled to the inn's historic character, plus annex buildings behind the inn built in 1968 with 13 Deluxe and 7 Standard rooms. Ask for a room block based on the households staying overnight.
The Middlebury Inn's wedding overview names its rooms and their limits. The Founder's Room, an elegant ballroom with crown molding and a working marble fireplace, suits up to 110 guests, and the Founder's Room, Stewart Library and Willard Room open together into one space for a reception of up to 80 guests, or up to 100 using the connector space. A courtyard is offered for an outdoor ceremony and reception.
The Willard Room serves as an indoor-outdoor cocktail space to watch the sunset.
The three room counts (80, 100 and 110) depend on the layout chosen. Ask which one a quote assumes. The courtyard is the space to plan around for the ceremony, with the Willard Room as the fallback for cocktails.

Why the 110-person and 100-person figures differ.
The Founder's Room figure describes a wedding of up to 110; the connected-room reception arrangement is given as 80, expandable to 100 with the connector. These are different layouts. For a hypothetical 105-person reception, the 110 figure is not evidence that the connected dining arrangement has 105 seats. Request a plan naming the Founder's Room, Stewart Library, Willard Room and any connector space included in the proposal.
Decide where each part of the event occurs before counting seats. The courtyard offers an outdoor ceremony and reception option, while the Willard Room can support indoor and outdoor cocktails. If a courtyard ceremony moves inside, the receiving room must be available at the right time; furniture already set for dinner may change the changeover plan. Ask whether the ceremony seats remain in place or are moved while guests attend cocktails.
A small wedding can use a different package from the larger room arrangement. When comparing an elopement or micro-wedding quote with a reception quote, keep the meal, room, event duration and overnight rooms in separate lines. Adding a spa gathering creates another appointment schedule; check treatment lengths and how many people can participate before putting it on everyone's itinerary.
