Wedding venues in central Vermont

Central Vermont’s wedding choices include Mountain Top in Chittenden, Killington and Mountain Meadows in Killington, Riverside Farm in Pittsfield, Lilac Inn in Brandon and Middlebury Inn. Compare the actual event room and guest lodging allocation. A property-wide reception maximum does not establish that every building seats the same dinner list.

Two different indoor dinner decisions

Middlebury Inn distinguishes an 80-person connected-room reception, 100 using its connector and a separate 110-person Founder’s Room description. Killington’s Peak Lodge holds 200 compared with 300 at K-1 or the Oscar Ballroom. A hypothetical 240-person reception is therefore 40 over the summit room figure, requiring another arrangement.

Mountain Top ResortChittendenChittenden: Mountain Top’s listed 250 event guests and 290 overnight places measure different bookings. Its own kitchen caters; compare the chosen cash-bar or open-bar terms.
Killington ResortKillingtonKillington: Peak Lodge’s 200-person layout differs from the two 300-person rooms, K-1 and Oscar. Listed Grand Hotel Ballroom rental is $2,500–$3,000 versus $7,000–$12,000 for Peak Lodge; the stated music limit is 23:00.
Riverside FarmPittsfieldPittsfield: the ceremony and wedding-events information gives 75–300 people. Vermont Farms Catering is the exclusive food partner; confirm which building and arrangement the proposal reserves.
The Lilac InnBrandonBrandon: Lilac’s listed 200-person celebration has a twelve-hour ceremony-and-reception fee of $1,950–$3,950. The venue controls catering and alcohol, with the cited bar listing starting at $17 per guest.
The Middlebury InnMiddleburyMiddlebury: choose between 80 in the connected rooms, 100 with the connector and a separately described 110 in Founder’s Room. A listing distinguishes no reception rental fee from a $500, thirty-minute ceremony; property catering and drinks apply.
Mountain Meadows LodgeKillingtonKillington: Mountain Meadows’ 200-person listing uses in-house menus, from vegetarian dishes to grill, clam-bake and pig-roast formats. Ask which cash, open or limited bar arrangement accompanies the selected meal.

Wedding venues in central Vermont. Rutland County, the Green Mountain spine and the lakes and inns scattered through it. The trade here is space for travel time.

Properties are larger and quieter than in the Champlain Valley, and more of your guests will drive more than an hour to reach them. Central Vermont has two airports in reach. Birch Ridge's Killington guide says Rutland Southern Vermont Regional Airport is about 30 minutes south of Killington.

The cited lodging guide describes the Rutland airport connection to Boston and estimates Burlington driving time at 1.5 hours. Check current flight schedules and allow for the actual event-day route before printing travel instructions.

The same guide says the Killington Grand Resort and Mountain Top Resort provide hundreds of rooms on their own properties.

A regional shortlist does not establish the tax on a particular wedding invoice. Confirm the venue address, taxable meal and alcohol charges, lodging charges and applicable municipal rates for the event date. A town’s absence from a historic list is not a current exemption. Ask for service charges and tax to be itemised separately.

Check the ceremony and lodging locations together

Compare central Vermont choices using the event buildings rather than a resort's overall maximum. A ceremony on a lawn and a reception in a lodge need a named wet-weather arrangement for the same list. For a weekend, calculate rooms by household and give outside guests a specific arrival address. A property can host dinner without accommodating every dinner guest overnight.

For example, 120 reception guests divided into 50 overnight households need a room plan for those households, not 120 bedrooms. Assign the rooms actually offered, then arrange transport for anyone staying elsewhere. Check the ceremony, reception and last shuttle times together before booking a room block.

A Killington summit invitation needs the summit room

Killington's 200-person Peak Lodge is smaller than the 300-person K-1 and Oscar arrangements. For a proposed 220 guests, the summit room is twenty places short even though two other resort rooms have sufficient listed capacity. Obtain the ceremony and reception room names together. Moving dinner to a larger building changes the guest journey and supplier setup, not just a number on a brochure.

Middlebury Inn presents a different room decision. The connected-room arrangement has 80 reception places, increasing to 100 with the connector, while the Founder's Room is separately described for 110. Ask which configuration the venue will actually reserve.

For Brandon, Lilac Inn's nine guest rooms are on the second floor according to its home page; confirm individual guest access needs with the inn rather than treating a nine-room allocation as nine interchangeable spaces. Mountain Top's advertised 290 overnight places are a separate allocation from its 250-person event maximum.
