Community Sailing Center: lakefront dinner and rain plan

Town BurlingtonType Lakefront

Burlington’s Community Sailing Center offers the Terrace for 120 seated or 150 standing, and the Dana Pier for 80 seated or 120 standing. The pier season is May–September, with events ending 30 minutes before sunset. Its schedule separates a 10 pm amplified-noise limit, 10:30 pm last call and 11 pm guest departure.

Pier daylight and the evening terrace have different clocks

A hypothetical 7 pm sunset puts the pier’s stated finish at 6:30 pm. That does not authorize amplified sound until the later guest-departure time. The Classic package combines terrace, classroom and pier; obtain the actual dinner plan rather than adding each space’s maximum into one seated capacity.

The Community Sailing Center is a nonprofit sailing school founded in 1994 that rents its lakeside space for events. Eventective describes it as a lively hub on the shore of Lake Champlain less than a mile from downtown Burlington, and the center's own site describes a place where community members and visitors gather to play on the lake.

Community Sailing Center: the setting, and what couples plan around

Because it is a working sailing school, the season, the dock and the lake set the schedule. Ask how weather moves the event indoors, what the center's own programs occupy on your date, and how rental income and program hours are separated.

Identify which event clock applies to each space

The sailing center's Pier finish follows sunset, while its Terrace timetable has separate sound, bar and departure cutoffs. If an example sunset is 6:40 pm, a thirty-minute-before-sunset Pier finish is 6:10 pm. That would leave a very different evening from the Terrace’s later departure schedule. Use the actual date and confirmed rental instructions when setting the itinerary.

The food-and-alcohol insurance condition also needs an explicit answer. The center describes $1 million event cover unless its preferred caterer is used. Ask which supplier and policy arrangement the proposal assumes, then obtain the required certificate when applicable. The Terrace-only five-hour or full-day hire and the larger packages reserve different combinations of spaces. A package containing the classroom and Pier does not let every room's maximum be added together as one dinner capacity.
