Wedding venues in the Mad River Valley

Waitsfield and Warren offer different wedding formats: Round Barn’s 200-person event, Lareau Farm’s 150-person pavilion and Sugarbush’s room-specific resort arrangements. Round Barn’s published 100-guest Saturday and holiday-Sunday minimum applies May–October. Sugarbush’s 250-person maximum belongs to the larger reception arrangement rather than every ceremony site.

Match both the ceremony and dinner counts

Sugarbush’s Clay Brook Lawn is listed for 140, Rumble’s for 100 and Mt. Ellen for 50–150.

An assumed 160-person list exceeds each of those figures while remaining below the larger reception room’s 250. Lareau’s wood-fired food and pavilion are another meal arrangement to price.

Confirm the actual guest route and room block rather than using a guessed regional driving time.

The Inn at the Round Barn FarmWaitsfieldWaitsfield: the 200-person Round Barn uses the venue kitchen. Its payment terms name 50% and a non-refundable $2,000 deposit. The 9:30 pm amplified-music finish has a winter exception to 11 pm tied to reserving all Inn bedrooms.
Sugarbush ResortWarrenWarren: a 250-person reception maximum does not establish every ceremony layout. Sugarbush’s cited menus span plated, buffet, family-style and stations, while the bar listing starts at $65 per guest.
Lareau FarmWaitsfieldWaitsfield: Lareau’s covered pavilion lists 150 people. The farm’s wood-fired catering can work at the property or travel, a distinction to settle before comparing venue and meal charges.

Wedding venues in the Mad River Valley. Waitsfield, Warren and Fayston: a compact valley with a strong barn and farm tradition and a genuine village center. The valley's venues sit close to residential neighbors, so the clearest published music cut-off of any venue covered here comes from here.

Treat an end-time as a planning input, not a detail. Three different weddings sit in this valley. The Inn at the Round Barn Farm holds up to 200 and asks for a 100-guest minimum on Saturdays and holiday Sundays from May to October.

Lareau Farm's pavilion holds 150 and cooks from its own wood-fired oven. Sugarbush holds up to 250 with lodging across several resort properties.

A regional shortlist does not establish the tax on a particular wedding invoice. Confirm the venue address, taxable meal and alcohol charges, lodging charges and applicable municipal rates for the event date. A town’s absence from a historic list is not a current exemption. Ask for service charges and tax to be itemised separately.

Compare the actual Sugarbush and Round Barn arrangements

Sugarbush has several reception sizes: up to 250 in Mountain View and Courtyard, 100 at Rumble's and 50–150 at Mt. Ellen. Clay Brook Lawn's 140-person ceremony figure is a separate limit. A 160-person wedding cannot use every one of those settings. Ask for the named ceremony and reception combination before comparing that proposal with a Round Barn booking.

A chairlift ceremony also needs a boarding and return schedule. Include the alternative ceremony setting in the same proposal rather than assuming a summit booking can move into any available room.

Round Barn's evening condition belongs in the timetable

Round Barn Farm identifies 9:30 pm as the amplified-music finish. Its winter exception can extend a reception to 11 pm if all Inn rooms have been reserved. The extra time therefore depends on the overnight booking as well as the season. Write both conditions into the evening plan before promising a later party to guests or hiring musicians for those hours.

Lareau's 150-person pavilion is attached to its wood-fired food operation. A quote for mobile catering somewhere else is a different service from dinner at that pavilion. Ask where cooking and serving take place in the proposed booking. At Sugarbush, the room selection comes first: the 140-person Clay Brook ceremony lawn and the larger 250-person reception arrangement cannot be treated as an identical ceremony-and-dinner limit.

That distinction is useful when the invitation count falls between the two figures.
