Wedding venues in Woodstock and the Upper Valley

Woodstock and the Upper Valley offer distinct formats: Woodstock Inn’s named resort rooms, Twin Farms’ small dining settings in Barnard, Harpoon’s Windsor taproom and Lake Morey’s Fairlee reception rooms. Compare seated capacity with seated capacity. A standing reception, a dinner and overnight accommodation are different quantities even at the same property.

Twin Farms and Harpoon have different seated limits

Twin Farms’ Lodge holds 30 dining and its Pub 40, although each has a 50-person reception figure. Harpoon’s full buyout provides 100 seats within a 125-person total.

A hypothetical 110-person dinner exceeds that Harpoon seated figure by ten. Lake Morey’s rooms range from 60 to 250; the actual room determines the comparison.

Wedding venues in Woodstock and the Upper Valley. The Ottauquechee valley and the Connecticut River towns: the part of Vermont closest to Boston and New York by road. Travel is the reason couples choose this corner.

Guests arriving from southern cities need the route to their actual lodging and ceremony address. Woodstock Inn, Twin Farms, Harpoon and Lake Morey offer different settings, rather than one uniform accommodation arrangement. Stay Vermont's Woodstock guide says the Woodstock Inn is in demand and should be your first call. Call with a date in mind, ideally 12 to 18 months ahead.

It points to Quechee, east of Woodstock, as the alternative. The lead time is the planning fact.

Twin Farms
Barnard; Capacity: Receptions of up to 50 in the Lodge or the Pub, 40 at the Lakeside Cabana, 40 in the Main House dining room (60 maximum); Catering: Breakfast, lunch (including picnics) and farm-to-table dinner are part of the rate, with cocktails and canapés each evening.

A regional shortlist does not establish the tax on a particular wedding invoice. Confirm the venue address, taxable meal and alcohol charges, lodging charges and applicable municipal rates for the event date. A town’s absence from a historic list is not a current exemption. Ask for service charges and tax to be itemised separately.

Allocate the meal before the overnight invitations

Woodstock Inn, Twin Farms, Harpoon and Lake Morey should produce four different inquiries. The Inn's advertised range of two to 225 covers a variety of celebrations. Ask which named dining room belongs to the date and whether the ceremony uses another part of the property. Compare that actual arrangement with the room-specific capacities at the other venues, rather than assuming the largest advertised figure describes every meal.

In Barnard, a 35-person dinner would exceed the Twin Farms Lodge's 30 places by five, while remaining five below the Pub's 40. The Main House dining description is different again: it gives 40 and a maximum of 60. These are examples of a room choice changing the invitation decision even within a small estate. Include the seating format when requesting a proposal.

Harpoon's Windsor event has a different meal supplier. Its own kitchen caters, so get that kitchen's dinner proposal alongside the complete or partial buyout terms. For an indoor group, the full buyout's 100 seats matter more than its larger total occupancy.

In Fairlee, select Lake Morey's actual room before setting dinner numbers: the 60-person Edgewater and 250-person Terrace figures are not alternative labels for one space. Reserve accommodation by household after choosing the event arrangement, then give each household its own arrival address.
